I3D is the leading conference for real time 3D computer graphics and human interaction.
2014 marks the 28th year since the first conference. This time we will go to San Francisco, California during March 14th-16th (Friday-Sunday). We invite you to submit papers across the entire range of topics in interaction, interactive 3D graphics, and games.
I3D 2014 will be held in San Francisco, California. Additionally, The Game Developers Conference (GDC'14) will be held right after I3D in the Bay Area making it an excellent opportunity to attend both conferences.

For 2014, the I3D conference is partnering with the Journal of Computer Graphics Techniques to allow accepted JCGT papers to be presented at I3D and select I3D papers to be published as extended versions in JCGT. This brings together the advantages of a journal and a conference, allowing both considered, detailed exploration of a topic without page limits and public presentation and debate. JCGT and I3D are a good fit for one another, with overlapping communities and a shared focus on practical, robust methods with collaboration between academia and industry.
I3D Paper Followup in JCGT: Every paper accepted at I3D will automatically be considered by the I3D committee and JCGT board for subsequent followup in the journal. Authors of papers that are recommended for followup in JCGT will have the opportunity to revise at least 30% of their paper to address the implementation details, limitations, and robustness evaluation emphasized by the journal. At least two of the anonymous I3D reviewers from the original paper will also review for JCGT per paper, providing continuity and accelerating the publication process. The papers selected for this process will be announced at the I3D closing ceremony.
JCGT Papers Presented at I3D: The authors of any paper submitted to JCGT before 22 October 2013 who want to present at I3D 2014 should e-mail managing-editor@jcgt.org before 4 December 2013. In the event that there are more authors who wish to take advantage of this opportunity than the schedule can accomodate, we will prioritize speaking slots in the order that e-mails were received. Authors whose papers are under review may request a slot conditional on their paper being accepted. Speakers must register for and attend the conference as would authors presenting papers in the regular I3D program.
This partnership is in addition to the partnership I3D has had with the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Graphics (TVCG) where TVCG papers can be presented at I3D and the best I3D papers will be invited to submit extended versions to appear in a TVCG special issue.
